Flirenne Ceiling Light - Black

Description

DescriptionThe Flirenne is a wide, low ceiling light with a shade shaped like a sweeping, asymmetric brim. The wood is woven in a herringbone pattern and edged in black. The shade is brown wood, while the steel body, ceiling canopy and lampholder are black, so the dark trim draws a crisp line around the natural tone. It is 50cm long, 34.5cm wide and 16.5cm high, so it sits close to the ceiling and suits rooms where a hanging pendant would crowd the space. It takes a single E27 bulb of up to 40W, and the bulb is not included, which leaves the choice of colour and warmth to you. Rated IP20, it belongs indoors in a dry room.
Because it sits low and spreads wide, the Flirenne works well in a living room, a bedroom, a hallway or a dining area with a lower ceiling, where you want texture overhead without losing headroom. The earthy woven shade pairs naturally with linen, pale timber and green plants, and the black edging gives it enough definition to sit comfortably beside darker metal furniture too. The bulb hangs beneath the shade, so a clear globe filament bulb makes a feature of it, while a frosted bulb gives a softer, more even look.
The body is steel and the wood shade is brown, framed by its black trim. There is no switch on the light itself, so you control it from the wall switch in the room. It runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains, and as a wired-in ceiling light it is installed by a qualified electrician. The installation instructions are available as a download, and the packed weight is 1.122KG. As an IP20 light it is meant for dry rooms, so keep it clear of bathrooms and steamy corners, and check that your ceiling has room for its 50cm length before you order.
