Malaga Outdoor 1 Light Mini Wall Lantern - White

Description

Description
The Malaga is a 330mm outdoor wall lantern in white powder-coated cast aluminium with clear polycarbonate panels on three sides. A single E27 bulb (sold separately, up to 60W) sits inside the hexagonal frame, visible through the glazing. The IP54 rating protects against dust ingress and water splashes from any direction, making the lantern suitable for doorways, porch walls, and sheltered outdoor areas exposed to rain.

Designed for porches, side entrances, and narrow passages where a full-size lantern would dominate, the Malaga's 160mm width and 100mm projection allow it to fit into restricted spaces without blocking pedestrian movement. The lantern mounts directly onto an exterior wall via a rear bracket (supplied) and connects to standard UK mains wiring concealed in the wall cavity. The polycarbonate panels resist impact better than glass, reducing breakage risk in high-traffic areas or where children play near the fitting.

The white finish provides a clean backdrop that pairs with both traditional masonry and modern render, and the cast aluminium construction carries a five-year guarantee with no restrictions for coastal installation. Norlys apply a marine-grade powder coat that resists salt spray corrosion, so the lantern remains functional in seaside environments. The hexagonal profile references classical carriage lamp design without replicating period detail, allowing the fitting to sit comfortably alongside both traditional cottage entrances and contemporary new-build exteriors.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Malaga take?

The lantern takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED filament bulb between 4-8W and 2700K for outdoor ambient lighting that mimics traditional incandescent.

Is it suitable for coastal locations?

Yes. Norlys apply a marine-grade powder coat to the cast aluminium and provide a five-year guarantee with no restrictions for coastal areas. The lantern is designed to resist salt spray corrosion.

Can it be used in exposed positions?

The IP54 rating protects against dust and water splashes from any direction, making it suitable for sheltered outdoor positions such as porches, covered doorways, and walls under eaves. For fully exposed positions with driving rain, consider a higher IP rating.

What height should it be mounted at?

Typical mounting height for a porch or side entrance is 1.6-1.8m from ground level, positioning the lantern at eye level or slightly above for even light distribution across the doorway and step area.
