Basic Socket Textile Cable Cord Set 2m - Cream

Description

Description
The Basic Socket Textile Cable Cord Set 2m is a lampholder already made up on a length of flex, with a ceiling rose to cover the outlet. A white moulded lampholder with a threaded skirt and a plain ribbed shoulder, hung from a cream braided flex that runs straight into the top of it. There is no shade at all, so the lamp fitted below is the whole of what is seen, and the holder is sized to look deliberate rather than temporary. The moulding is a flat even white with a slight sheen to the plastic, and the thread is left on show as part of the look. A shade ring can be screwed on but nothing else is fitted. It is meant to hang on its own or in a run of several. It measures 8cm across, in metal and fabric.

It is what a bare shade or a glass hangs on, made up ready so the only work left is the ceiling outlet and the drop. It is a part rather than a finished fitting, so it is bought alongside whatever it is going to carry or connect to rather than on its own. That is the point of buying the pieces separately: the shade, the flex and the holder are each chosen on their own, and a run can be made up to a length and a drop that no finished pendant would give you.

The holder is E27 and takes up to 40W. It is rated IP20, for dry indoor rooms.

Frequently Asked
Which bulb does it take?
An E27 lamp up to 40W. Bulbs are supplied separately so you can choose the brightness and colour you want.

Can it be dimmed?
Yes, on a compatible dimmer, provided the lamp you fit is a dimmable one. The fitting has no dimmer of its own.

Can it go in a bathroom?
No. It is IP20, which covers dry interior rooms only. A bathroom needs IP44 or better.
