Solar Lantern - Brown

Description

DescriptionOur Solar Lantern in brown is an egg-shaped lantern with a rattan-look woven body over a black steel frame, made from plastic and steel. It stands 45cm tall and measures 26cm in diameter, yet weighs just 0.61KG, so it is easy to lift by its rope carry handle and take wherever you want a glow. Inside sits an integrated LED shaped like a filament-style bulb, giving a warm white light at 3000K, the soft, homely tone that sits comfortably beside candles and table lamps. A solar panel is set into the lid, so there is no plug and no flex to trail across the floor.
Because the panel charges from daylight, the lantern does best in an open, sunny spot, so a bright windowsill, a conservatory or a sunroom suits it well. It is a good choice for anyone who likes the look of woven texture and wants a lantern they can move from room to room without hunting for a socket. Set it on a side table in the evening and the open weave lets the warm light through between the strands, so it reads as a lantern rather than a bare bulb. The earthy brown tone works with linen, pale wood, terracotta and green plants, and sits happily in relaxed country rooms and modern spaces alike.
The lantern takes one AA NiMH battery of 300mAh and works at 1.2V, so it needs no mains supply. An on/off switch puts you in charge of when it lights, so it glows only on the evenings you choose. The black steel frame holds the woven body in its rounded egg shape, while the plastic strands keep the whole lantern light enough to lift with one hand. As a practical note, place it each day where the solar panel in its lid catches plenty of daylight, because a well-charged lantern gives its best light through the evening.
