Bao Wall Light - Gold

Description

Description
The Bao is a wall light built around a single frosted glass globe set into a brushed gold oval backplate. The backplate measures 310mm tall by 120mm wide, with the 100mm diameter glass sphere positioned at the lower third of the oval. A single G9 bulb (sold separately) behind the frosted glass provides diffused ambient light suitable for hallways, bedrooms and living areas.

Designed for low to medium-level ambient lighting rather than task illumination, the Bao works as corridor lighting spaced 2-3m apart, as bedside reading accent in pairs either side of a bed, or as decorative fill light in living rooms where additional soft light is needed without ceiling fittings. The 120mm projection from the wall keeps the light clear of doorframes and furniture placed against the wall. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry indoor locations only.

The brushed gold finish on the metal backplate has a directional grain that softens reflections and gives the fitting a warm metallic presence without the high gloss of polished brass. The frosted white glass globe diffuses the G9 bulb completely, so no visible filament or LED diode shows when lit. At 310mm tall the Bao sits comfortably between skirting and picture rail height in most residential rooms, and the oval backplate provides a larger visual anchor than a simple circular rose would offer.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Bao take?

The fitting takes a single G9 capsule bulb up to 28W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 3-5W G9 LED in warm white (2700K-3000K) for ambient lighting.

Can this be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the Bao is suitable for dry indoor locations only and should not be installed in bathrooms, shower rooms or other areas where moisture is present.

How far does it project from the wall?

The fitting projects approximately 120mm from the wall surface once installed, measured from the wall to the front of the glass globe.

Is the light dimmable?

Dimming depends on the bulb used. If you fit a dimmable G9 LED bulb and pair it with a compatible dimmer switch, the light output can be controlled. The fitting itself does not restrict dimming.
