DescriptionWe stock the Calipso column as a twin-tube LED wall light in black. Two fluted aluminium cylinders sit on a black rectangular backplate, and each houses an integrated LED that throws light both up and down the wall. Together they draw 24W and give 1620 lumens of warm 2700K light, so you get a columnar wash with no visible bulbs to fit or replace.

We would put this where you want light on the wall rather than a work surface, so hallways, stairwells, bedrooms and living room feature walls all suit it. The two vertical beams pick out wall texture and draw the eye upward, which helps in narrow corridors or under a tall ceiling. The 36 degree beam keeps the light fairly tight to the wall instead of spilling across the whole room.

The backplate sits close to the wall and fixes to a standard UK back box. The fluted texture on each aluminium tube softens the edges of the beam a little, easing the line between lit and unlit wall, and the black powder-coated finish sits well with contemporary and monochrome rooms. At CRI 90 it renders colour accurately for a home, it runs on 220 to 240V mains, and it is rated IP20 for dry indoor use.

Frequently AskedHow does it fix to the wall?

The black backplate sits close to the wall and fixes to a standard UK electrical back box, so it wires straight into your existing wall point.

Is it dimmable?

No. The integrated LED is not dimmable, so it runs at its full 24W output whenever it is switched on. There is no bulb to swap out either, as the LED is built in.

What sort of light does it give?

It gives 1620 lumens of warm white light at 2700K, thrown up and down the wall from two fluted tubes to create a columnar wash. The 36 degree beam keeps the light close to the wall rather than lighting the whole room.

Can I use it in a bathroom?
