Universal 2 Light Round Ceiling Canopy - Black 80mm

Description

Description
The Maytoni universal ceiling canopy is an 80mm-diameter round metal plate designed to support two pendant lights from a single ceiling point. Two cable exit holes on the face of the canopy allow independent drops for each pendant, with all wiring concealed behind the 20mm-deep plate. The canopy fixes directly to a standard UK ceiling rose or junction box and provides a stable anchor point for pendants up to a combined reasonable load.

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables and hallway clusters where two pendants need to hang from the same ceiling position, the canopy replaces the visible clutter of individual ceiling roses with a single clean exit point. The 80mm diameter is compact enough to sit unobtrusively on most ceilings while providing enough surface area to cover the back box or plaster patch underneath. The black finish integrates with both black and mixed-finish pendant combinations.

The metal construction is powder-coated in a matt black finish that resists fingerprints during installation and sits flush against the ceiling once tightened. The two exit holes are pre-drilled to accept standard pendant cable, and the canopy includes internal cable grips to prevent strain on the electrical connections inside the ceiling void. The 20mm depth allows enough clearance for folding the cables and making connections without forcing the canopy away from the ceiling surface.

Frequently Asked
What ceiling fixing does it require?

The canopy fixes to a standard UK ceiling rose or junction box. The two pendant cables exit through the face of the canopy and connect to the mains supply inside the ceiling void. A qualified electrician should install or verify the ceiling wiring before fitting the canopy.

Can it support heavy pendants?

The canopy itself is robust metal and can support typical decorative pendants. The limiting factor is usually the ceiling fixing and the cable strength rather than the canopy. For heavy glass or crystal pendants, ensure the ceiling has a secure fixing point and consider using reinforced pendant cable.

Does it work with different pendant cable thicknesses?

Yes. The two exit holes accept standard pendant cable diameters. The internal cable grips can be adjusted to accommodate different cable thicknesses, preventing strain on the electrical connections and keeping the pendants hanging straight.

Is it compatible with pendant lights from any brand?

Yes. The canopy is a universal fitting designed to work with any pendant light that uses standard pendant cable. It simply provides a shared ceiling exit point for two separate pendants, regardless of their brand or style.
