Ground Plate 50mm - Black

Description

DescriptionThis is a small round plate of iron, finished in black, measuring 50mm across and sitting barely above the surface it rests on. The disc is circular and even all the way round. It is plain: no pattern, no trim, just a flat black form that reads as shadow rather than as a part. It weighs next to nothing in the hand. Black is what we would choose for anything meant to be looked past in a garden, and this is very much a look-past piece.
Its place is outdoor, ground-level lighting work, where a small black plate is wanted at the foot of a garden fitting. It is non-electrical and takes no lamp of its own; the lamp and the light belong to the fitting it serves. We sell it as a single accessory rather than as part of a set, which suits anyone building up a garden lighting scheme piece by piece, or keeping a spare or two by for later. It suits practical outdoor work rather than anything meant to be admired indoors, and it is an inexpensive thing to have on hand.
Aluminium is the reason it is so light, and it holds a slim profile without needing any bulk behind it. Garden grit and leaf litter are the only things likely to trouble it: brush it clear, wipe it over with a damp cloth and dry it off. Nothing here asks for polish. It carries a one year warranty. The wider range runs to outdoor lighting in opal white, including ball and oval table lamps, ball pendants in three sizes and multi-light ceiling fittings, so a plate in black stays quietly in the background of any of them.

Frequently AskedWhat is the plate made from?
Iron, finished in black. It is a very light part, around 0.015kg.
What size is it?
50mm in diameter and 10mm high, so it is a small, low accessory.
Does it take a bulb?
No. It is a non-electrical accessory, so any lamp is a matter for the fitting it is used with.
How should I keep it clean?
Brush off soil and leaf debris, wipe the face with a damp cloth and dry it. No cleaning chemicals are needed on a finish this plain.
Is there a warranty?
It carries a one year warranty.
Will the black work with other finishes?
Plain black sits quietly against dark fittings, soil and paving. Where the rest of a scheme is opal white, the plate still reads as shadow at ground level rather than as a contrast.
