Flermanne Ceiling Light - Gold

Description

DescriptionThe Flermanne is a flush ceiling light made from steel in a gold-coloured finish, with an open cage of angled triangular panels around a single bulb. It measures 47cm in diameter and 23.5cm high, so it sits close to the ceiling while still giving the room plenty of shape. It takes one E27 bulb of up to 60W, and the bulb is not included, which leaves you free to choose its warmth and style yourself. Because the bulb stays visible through the gaps, a decorative filament bulb is well worth considering. Rated IP20, this gold ceiling light belongs indoors in a dry room.
Because it fits close to the ceiling rather than hanging on a long drop, it suits rooms where headroom matters, such as a hallway, a landing at the top of the stairs or a bedroom with a lower ceiling. At 47cm across it has enough presence to anchor a living room or dining room, yet the open panels keep it from looking heavy. Gold-coloured steel sits warmly against white walls, pale timber and brass accents, and the geometric outline gives a plain room a clear focal point without adding clutter.
The frame is steel throughout, folded into angled panels and held by slim rods that run down from a round ceiling plate, and the gold-coloured finish covers every part of it. There is no switch on the fitting itself, so you turn it on and off at the wall. As a hard-wired mains light, it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions are available to download. When you buy a bulb, look for an E27 cap at 60W or less so it matches the fitting.
