Flenane Ceiling Light - White & Silver

Description

DescriptionThe Flenane is a flush ceiling light with a wide, shallow dome of steel, white on the outside and silver inside. It is 40cm across and 17cm high, so it fills a good stretch of ceiling without dropping far into the room. The inside of the shade carries a crackled, leaf-like silver texture that catches the bulb's light and gives the underside real depth whenever it is lit. It takes a single E27 bulb of up to 60W, and the bulb is not included, so the choice of lamp is yours. With an IP20 rating, it belongs indoors in dry rooms.
Because it sits close to the ceiling, this white ceiling light suits living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and studies, and it works well where a hanging pendant would crowd the space or catch a tall head. The white outer dome keeps a calm, clean look against a pale ceiling, while the silver lining gives a little sparkle to anyone glancing up from the sofa. Since the bulb sits in view inside the open shade, we like a decorative filament bulb here; it suits the curve of the dome and makes the fitting a feature of the room. It sits comfortably in a modern or relaxed scheme, alongside greys, warm neutrals and natural textures.
The body is steel, a material that is strong and holds its shape, so the dome keeps its clean curve. There is no switch or pull cord on the light itself; it is switched at the wall, so the room's wall switch controls it. It runs on a 220-240V mains supply and is wired into the ceiling, so a qualified electrician should install it, and the installation instructions come as a download. Packed, it weighs 2.088KG. Have an E27 bulb of 60W or less ready on the day, so the room is lit from the first evening.

Frequently AskedCan I use the Flenane in a bathroom?
No. It is rated IP20, which means it is meant for dry indoor rooms only, so we would keep it to living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and studies.
Which bulb does the Flenane take?
It takes one E27 bulb of up to 60W. The bulb is not included, and we think a decorative filament bulb looks especially good inside the open dome.
How big is the shade?
The light is 40cm across and 17cm high, so it sits close to the ceiling and suits rooms where a hanging pendant would feel too low.
Does the light have its own switch?
No, there is no switch or pull cord on the fitting. It is switched at the wall, so the room's wall switch controls it.
What material is the light?
The body is steel, finished white on the outside, with a crackled, leaf-like silver texture inside the shade that catches the light of the bulb.
