Kirenne Ceiling Light - Black

Description

DescriptionThe Kirenne Ceiling Light sits close to the ceiling on a round black plate. Its faceted geometric shade of natural cord is wound over a black steel frame. It stands 26cm tall and measures 44.5cm across, so it covers a good share of ceiling without dropping far into the room. The shade is fabric in a natural colour, and the black steel lines trace every facet, giving a crisp outline against the warm, earthy cord. It takes a single E27 bulb of up to 40W, and it is rated IP20, which settles where it belongs: indoors, in a dry room.
Because it sits flush rather than hanging, it suits living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and landings where a pendant would crowd the headroom, and it gives a dining room a warm, natural note overhead. The faceted outline works well with rattan, linen, pale wood and green plants, and the black frame ties in with black handles, picture frames or curtain poles elsewhere in the room. For anyone after an earthy, natural feel without giving up a tidy, modern shape, we think it is an easy choice. The open shade lets the bulb show through, so the light itself becomes part of the look.
The frame is steel with a black finish, and the cord is wrapped across each facet between the black steel lines. There is no switch on the light itself: it runs from your wall switch, on a 220-240V, 50/60Hz supply. As a wired-in mains light, it should be installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download. The bulb is not included, so choose an E27 bulb of up to 40W. Because the bulb sits on show inside the open shade, a decorative globe or filament bulb is worth considering.
