Flenane Small Ceiling Light - Black & Gold

Description

DescriptionThe Flenane is a close-fitting dome ceiling light, with a matt black steel exterior and a warm gold-leaf look to the interior. It is 28cm in diameter and 17.5cm high, so it sits neatly against the ceiling rather than hanging down into the room. It takes an E27 bulb of up to 40W, and the bulb is not included, which leaves the choice of brightness and colour temperature with you. It is rated IP20, which settles where it belongs: indoors, in dry rooms.
Because it fits close to the ceiling, it is a good choice where headroom matters: a hallway, a landing, a bedroom or a living room with a lower ceiling, where a pendant would get in the way. The gold inside the shade reflects the light from the bulb and gives it a warmer tone, while the black outside keeps the fitting crisp and simple against a pale ceiling. It sits comfortably in modern and industrial schemes, and the black and gold pairing works well alongside dark shelving, brass accents or warm wood.
The body is steel, with a black exterior and a gold interior, and the gold-leaf look has a gently crinkled texture that catches the eye even while the bulb is unlit. There is no switch on the light itself: it is switched at the wall, and it runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains. As a wired-in mains light, it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions are available as a download. It weighs 1.239KG packed, light enough to handle comfortably during fitting. When you choose a bulb, keep to an E27 of 40W or less, and a warm white one will sit nicely with the gold interior.
