Zoom Small Round Surface Downlight - Black

Description

Description
The Zoom is a 65mm diameter surface-mounted downlight with a cylindrical matt black aluminium body and a GU10 bulb fitting. The IP54 rating protects against dust ingress and splashing water, making the fitting suitable for bathrooms, kitchens, covered outdoor porches and any location where moisture or condensation is present.

Surface-mounted downlights fit directly onto the ceiling surface without requiring a recessed cut-out, making them compatible with solid concrete ceilings, metal deck ceilings and situations where depth above the ceiling is limited. The Zoom mounts on a circular backplate and the 105mm height projects the light source down from the ceiling plane, directing output onto the surface below. The GU10 fitting accepts any standard GU10 LED or halogen bulb up to 50W (sold separately), allowing control over colour temperature and beam angle to suit the application.

The matt black finish on the aluminium body absorbs light rather than reflecting it, keeping the fitting itself visually recessive when lit. The internal reflector is finished in a warm metallic tone that softens the beam spread and reduces glare compared to a white or silver reflector. The cylindrical form and 65mm diameter suit installation in hallways, shower rooms, walk-in wardrobes and kitchen prep areas where a compact fitting is needed and multiple fittings are typically spaced at 1-1.5m centres.

Frequently Asked
What does IP54 mean and where can it be used?

IP54 provides protection against dust and protection against splashing water from any direction. This rating makes the Zoom suitable for bathroom zones outside the immediate shower area, above kitchen sinks, and under covered outdoor porches where rain may blow in but the fitting is not directly exposed to weather.

Does it come with a bulb?

No. The fitting accepts any standard GU10 LED or halogen bulb up to 50W, sold separately. Most users pair this with a 5-7W GU10 LED in 3000K or 4000K depending on whether warm or neutral white light is needed.

What ceiling depth is required?

None. The Zoom is a surface-mounted fitting that attaches directly to the ceiling surface, so it works on solid concrete, plasterboard with no void above, or metal deck ceilings where recessed installation is not possible.

Can it be installed on a wall?

Yes. The fitting can be wall-mounted to act as a directional spotlight or wash light, though the beam will project horizontally rather than downward. Wall mounting is common in retail or gallery settings where accent lighting is needed.
