Flarborne Wall Light - Black

Description

DescriptionThe Flarborne Wall Light pairs a black steel body with a wide, natural paper shade woven into fine radiating strands. A round backplate sits flat to the wall, and a slim curved arm rises from it to carry the lampholder, so the broad shade tilts out at an easy angle, rather like the brim of a summer hat. It measures 36.5cm long and 25cm high, and it stands 35cm out from the wall, so it wants a clear stretch of wall. It takes a single E27 bulb, which is not included. The IP rating is IP20, which settles where it belongs: indoors, in dry rooms.
We think it suits a living room, a bedroom or a hallway where you want texture as much as light. The woven paper brings an earthy, relaxed feel that sits well with linen, rattan and pale wood, while the black steel keeps the outline crisp against white or painted walls. Beside a bed it frees up the bedside table, and a pair either side of a sofa or a fireplace gives a room a balanced look. It is switched at the wall, so it runs from the room's light switch rather than a switch of its own.
The body is steel with a black finish and the shade is paper in its natural colour. It weighs 0.71KG and runs on a 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains supply. As a wired-in fitting, it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions are available as a download. Paper does not take kindly to damp, so keep the shade dry and lift dust away with a soft, dry brush; a dry cloth looks after the steel arm and backplate. Before you buy, measure the spot: allow for the shade reaching 35cm out from the wall, and check it clears a door, a headboard or a passing shoulder.

No. It is rated IP20, which means indoors and dry rooms only, so keep it away from bathrooms, damp areas and anywhere outdoors.
Does it come with a bulb?
No, the bulb is not included. It takes a single E27 bulb, so you can choose the bulb that suits your room.
How far does it stand out from the wall?
It projects 35cm from the wall, and it is 36.5cm long and 25cm high, so allow a clear space around it.
What material is the shade?
The shade is paper in a natural colour, woven into fine radiating strands, and it is carried on a black steel body and arm.
Does it have its own switch?
