Description
The Lampholder E27 is the part a lamp screws into, made up on the flex of a pendant or wired into a lamp. A satin nickel lampholder shaped like a tall rounded cup, wide at the shoulder and drawn in to a short collar at the top where the flex enters. The metal is brushed rather than polished, with fine vertical grain running down the body and a cool pale silver tone that stays soft rather than mirror-bright. There is no shade and no shade ring, so whatever lamp is fitted is the whole of what is seen. The form is plain with no turned lines anywhere on it. It is meant to hang on its own or in a run of several.

It is the part everything else is built around: a shade goes over it, a flex runs into it, and the lamp you choose sets how the light reads. It is a part rather than a finished fitting, so it is bought alongside whatever it is going to carry or connect to rather than on its own. That is the point of buying the pieces separately: the shade, the flex and the holder are each chosen on their own, and a run can be made up to a length and a drop that no finished pendant would give you.

The holder is E27. It is rated IP20, for dry indoor rooms.

Which bulb does it take?
An E27 lamp. Bulbs are supplied separately so you can choose the brightness and colour you want.

Can it be dimmed?
Yes, on a compatible dimmer, provided the lamp you fit is a dimmable one. The fitting has no dimmer of its own.

Can it go in a bathroom?
No. It is IP20, which covers dry interior rooms only. A bathroom needs IP44 or better.
