Description
The Halo Socket Lampholder E27 is the part a lamp screws into, made up on the flex of a pendant or wired into a lamp. A cylinder of brushed aluminium with a deeply knurled body, the cross-hatch running the full height so the whole surface reads as texture rather than as a smooth tube. A flat cap closes the top and a short tapered cone rises from its centre where the flex enters. Two turned bands break the knurling near the foot, one narrow and one wider, with the skirt below them knurled again. The metal is a cool bright silver with a satin rather than mirror finish. Nothing is polished and there is no shade ring.
It is the part everything else is built around: a shade goes over it, a flex runs into it, and the lamp you choose sets how the light reads. It is a part rather than a finished fitting, so it is bought alongside whatever it is going to carry or connect to rather than on its own. That is the point of buying the pieces separately: the shade, the flex and the holder are each chosen on their own, and a run can be made up to a length and a drop that no finished pendant would give you.
The holder is E27 and takes up to 40W. It wires into a fixed outlet at a terminal block, which is work for a competent electrician. It is class II, double insulated, so it needs no earth, and it is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms.
