Nilbine Linear Pendant Light - Copper

Description

DescriptionThe Nilbine is a three-light linear pendant that hangs a row of copper-coloured steel wire cages from a slim black steel bar, with a round ceiling plate at its centre. Each shade is an open, faceted cage that tapers to a small cone at the top, so the bulb inside stays in full view. The fitting measures 79cm long, 17.5cm wide and 110cm high overall. Each of the three shades takes an E27 bulb of up to 60W. The bulbs are not included, so you choose the clear or amber filament style you like best. It is rated IP20, which settles where it belongs: indoors, in a dry room.
We think it does its best work over a dining table, a kitchen island or a long desk in a home office. There, three points of light spaced along the bar spread the glow along the surface rather than gathering it in one spot. The black bar and cords keep a quiet line against the ceiling and leave the copper-coloured cages to draw the eye. It sits comfortably in an industrial or warehouse-style room with bare wood and concrete, and the warm metallic tone lifts a plain modern kitchen just as well.
Both the bar and the shades are steel, and steel is a strong, rigid metal that holds a fine wire shape well. There is no switch on the light itself. It is switched at the wall, so it works from the light switch you already have. It runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains, and as a wired-in ceiling light it is installed by a qualified electrician. The installation instructions come as a download, and the packed weight is 2.056KG. Before you buy, measure your table against the 79cm bar and check your ceiling height against the 110cm overall height.
