Grape Pendant Light 25cm - Smoke

Description

Description
Grape is a pendant in smoke. A ball built up out of clustered bubbles in smoke-tinted glass, dozens of rounded blisters packed over the whole surface so the sphere has no smooth face anywhere. The tint is a cool blue-grey, clear enough that the lamp inside shows straight through and every blister acts as a small lens. It hangs from a low polished chrome cap with a black braided flex above it. The bottom of the ball is left open. Unlit it reads as smoked crystal; lit, it scatters bright points around the room. It measures 25cm across and 22cm tall.

It suits a table, an island or a hallway, hung low enough to be looked at rather than into. Hang it so the bottom of the shade sits about 80cm above the surface, a little higher if people walk beneath it rather than sit under it. Hung at that height the shade is read as an object in the room rather than as a source, and the light lands on the table instead of in the eyes of the people round it. It hangs on 250cm, cut to the drop at installation rather than fixed at the factory.

The holder is E27. It is rated IP20, for dry indoor rooms.

Frequently Asked
Which bulb does it take?
An E27 lamp. Bulbs are supplied separately so you can choose the brightness and colour you want.

Can it be dimmed?
Yes, on a compatible dimmer, provided the lamp you fit is a dimmable one. The fitting has no dimmer of its own.

How high should it hang above a dining table?
About 80cm from the table top to the bottom of the shade. Go higher over an island people walk past, and lower over a table nobody passes beneath.

Can it go in a bathroom?
No. It is IP20, which covers dry interior rooms only. A bathroom needs IP44 or better.
