Float Smoke Glass LED Ceiling Light - Black

Description

DescriptionWe stock the Float as a compact LED ceiling light with a smoke-tinted glass diffuser on a matt black metal canopy. The integrated 13W LED gives 700 lumens of warm white light at 3000K, and the dual-layer glass shade pairs a clear outer layer with a frosted inner diffuser to soften the output and keep glare down. The smoke tint reads as a gentle grey when the light is off, a quieter look than the clear glass version of the same fitting.

It sits close to the ceiling, so we like it in hallways, low-ceiling bedrooms and utility spaces where you want the fitting to stay out of the way. The 100 degree beam angle spreads a wide, even wash of ambient light across the room. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only.

The LED is dimmable on a compatible LED dimmer (sold separately), so you can bring the 700 lumens down to a soft night-light level. It runs on standard 220-240V mains at 50Hz, has a CRI of 80 for natural-looking colour, and mounts directly to a UK ceiling rose or junction box. As the LED is integrated there are no separate bulbs to buy or replace.

Frequently AskedHow is the Float fitted?

It mounts directly to a standard UK ceiling rose or junction box and sits close to the ceiling. The LED is integrated, so there are no separate bulbs to fit. We recommend a qualified electrician for the wiring.

Is it dimmable?

Yes. The integrated LED dims on a compatible LED dimmer (sold separately), so you can set it from the full 700 lumens down to a soft night-light glow.

Can I use it in a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only.

How is the smoke glass different from the clear glass version?

This is the smoke-tinted glass Float, which reads as a soft grey when switched off for a quieter presence. The clear glass version of the same fitting has a brighter, more transparent look when off.
