Universal 3 Light Rectangular Canopy - White

Description

Description
The Universal 3 Light Rectangular Canopy is a 650mm white metal mounting plate designed to support three pendant lights from a single ceiling point. The canopy provides three evenly-spaced outlet positions along its 650mm length, allowing three separate pendant cables to drop from one ceiling rose connection. The rectangular profile measures 50mm deep and 25mm tall, giving a low-profile fixture once mounted.

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables and workbenches where linear pendant arrangements are needed, the canopy replaces the need for three separate ceiling fixings by consolidating the electrical connection at one point. The 650mm spacing between the outer outlets suits island worktops between 1.8m and 2.4m in length, with the three pendants typically hung 700-900mm above the work surface. The white powder-coated metal finish pairs with modern, Scandinavian and coastal interiors.

The canopy mounts to a standard UK ceiling rose and conceals the junction box and cable entry behind the plate. Each of the three outlet points accepts a single pendant cable, with the internal wiring distributing power from the main ceiling connection. The metal construction provides structural support for the combined weight of three pendant fittings, with the canopy rated to carry typical decorative pendant loads when correctly fixed to a ceiling joist or secure backing.

Frequently Asked
How is the canopy wired?

The canopy connects to a single ceiling rose at the central point. Internal wiring distributes power to the three pendant outlet positions. A qualified electrician should install the canopy and connect the pendant cables to ensure safe operation and compliance with UK wiring regulations.

What spacing does the canopy provide between pendants?

The three outlet positions are evenly distributed along the 650mm length. This typically gives approximately 325mm spacing between adjacent outlet points, allowing three pendants to hang in a linear row above a kitchen island or dining table.

What weight can the canopy support?

The canopy must be fixed to a ceiling joist or backing plate capable of carrying the combined weight of three pendant fittings. The metal construction is designed for typical decorative pendant loads, but heavier fittings or clusters may require additional structural support at the ceiling fixing point.

Can the canopy be painted?

The white powder-coated metal finish can be overpainted with metal-compatible paint if a different colour is required. Ensure the canopy is disconnected from mains power before painting and allow paint to cure fully before reconnection.
