Flarborne Table Lamp - Black

Description

DescriptionThe Flarborne is a table lamp with a slim black steel stem that rises from a round base and curves over at the top, holding a wide, flat shade of woven natural paper. The shade sits like the brim of a summer hat, its fine strands radiating out from the centre so the bulb shows through the weave. It stands 46.5cm tall, 36.5cm wide and 32cm long, and its round base has a diameter of 18cm. It takes an E27 bulb, which is not included, so you choose the bulb and the warmth of light yourself. The lamp is rated IP20, which means it belongs indoors in a dry room.
Because the shade is broad and open, the bulb hangs just beneath it while a gentle glow passes through the weave, which suits a reading corner, a bedside table, a desk or a hallway console. The pairing of black steel and natural paper sits comfortably among wood, rattan, linen and houseplants, and it brings a relaxed, holiday feel to a bedroom or home office without looking fussy. Since the bulb is part of the look, a decorative globe with a visible filament suits the open shade particularly well.
The body is steel in a black finish, and the lamp weighs 1.84KG. It runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains power and has a cord switch, so you can control the light from the cable without reaching under the shade. Paper and water do not mix, so keep the woven shade dry and dust it gently with a soft brush or a dry cloth. The installation instructions come as a download, and it is worth having an E27 bulb ready so the lamp can be used straight away.
