Villanova 1 Ceiling Spotlight - Black

Description

DescriptionThe Villanova is a single ceiling spotlight with a black cylindrical head, made from aluminium and plastic. It hangs from a slim rectangular black mounting plate on a short swivel stem, finished in a silver tone that picks out the joint against the black. The whole spotlight stands 12.5cm tall and measures 6cm in diameter, so it reads as neat and compact on the ceiling. It takes a single GU10 bulb, which is not included, so you choose the brightness and colour of the light yourself. It is rated IP20, which settles where it belongs: indoors, in a dry room.
Because the head swivels, you can aim the beam at a picture, a bookshelf, a reading chair or a dark corner rather than washing the whole room evenly. That makes it a good choice for a living room, hallway, landing, bedroom or study, anywhere directed light does more work than a single central pendant. We think the black finish suits modern and industrial schemes, and it gives a crisp outline against a pale ceiling. A few spaced along a hallway or grouped above a sofa give a clean, considered look, and because each one is switched at the wall, they work as part of your everyday lighting with no fiddly controls.
The body pairs aluminium with plastic, and the spotlight weighs just 0.32KG. It runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains and has no switch of its own. As a wired-in mains light, it should be installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download. GU10 is a widely used bulb cap, so a replacement bulb is easy to find whenever the time comes to change it. Pick the bulb to suit the room: a warmer white for a bedroom or living room, a cooler white for a study.
