The Porcelain Lampholder E27 is the part a lamp screws into, made up on the flex of a pendant or wired into a lamp. A plain white porcelain lampholder, the body a straight-sided cylinder with a slight flare at the base where it meets the ceiling. The glaze is even and softly reflective, and the shoulder carries the shallow ridges of the moulding. A metal cap threads over the top to hold the lamp ring. There is nothing else on the body, no switch and no shade ring. The white is a warm off-white rather than a bright one, and the porcelain is thick enough to read as solid.

It is the part everything else is built around: a shade goes over it, a flex runs into it, and the lamp you choose sets how the light reads. It is a part rather than a finished fitting, so it is bought alongside whatever it is going to carry or connect to rather than on its own. That is the point of buying the pieces separately: the shade, the flex and the holder are each chosen on their own, and a run can be made up to a length and a drop that no finished pendant would give you.

The holder is E27. It is rated IP20, for dry indoor rooms.

An E27 lamp. Bulbs are supplied separately so you can choose the brightness and colour you want.

Can it be dimmed?
Yes, on a compatible dimmer, provided the lamp you fit is a dimmable one. The fitting has no dimmer of its own.

Can it go in a bathroom?
No. It is IP20, which covers dry interior rooms only. A bathroom needs IP44 or better.
